The honeybee, one of man's most important agricultural
helpers and a major source of employment worlwide, is endangered.
When diseases, parasites and other enemies - each a threat in their
own right - are found together, they spell potential disaster.
This book provides anyone concerned by the protection of honeybees
with the latest, most comprehensive fundamental knowledge about
the main threats available in a single volume.
The authors offer a straightforward method for diagnosing disorders
on approaching the beehive, two or three at a time. Each is then
described in detail, with a presentation of the development cycle
of the pathogen and how it spreads, synoptic illustrations, and
practical methods for diagnosing, preventing and controlling disease.
